But for some reason, perhaps because of my emotional and sensitive childhood, I am super awesome now. I almost have a super power. Because I felt all those emotions growing up, I somehow can now tell you EXACTLY what I'm feeling when I'm feeling it. I have found that this is a coveted thing. I can tell you, the person who made me cry, exactly why I'm crying. Your tone indicated something that I didn't feel good about. Or, you didn't look me in the eye. So I have these super strong emotions pop up in an instant, but then I can say calmly, with tears coming out of my eyes or with my face as red as a beet, that I am feeling upset because it appears you meant this when I want you to mean this. Or whatever the circumstance. I realize that's a little vague, but currently I'm talking about relationships with others and I don't want to get TOO personal.
So if you, too, wear your emotions on your sleeve, try to start pinpointing where its coming from. And then get rid of your pride and tell whoever made you feel that way what you're feeling. And what you're thinking. Because in order for the other person to understand you, they need to know how you got to where you're feeling. I sometimes stream of consciousness it until it comes out. i.e. "You said 'blah blah blah' but you didn't make eye contact and it made me think 'oh what if she meant this and is thinking about this other thing and is trying not to hurt my feelings so that in turn made me feel really sad and then I got mad at myself for feeling sad because we were having such a lovely night and that's why I'm now angry and distant, because I am mad at myself." And then your friend, or significant other, or parent, or child, or dog will be like "oh ok. Wow. You're so in touch with your feelings." instead of them saying "Cry-baby."
I wish I knew my super power when I was younger.
So this is my opening for you to get to know me a little more and understand where I may take my blog. There may be some emotional posts, but also insightful ones. Perhaps some funny ones. I plan on reviewing some things. And talking about my girlfriend a lot. And the Biz. I know that everyone really wants to hear what I have to say so I am going to give the people what they want. And by "everyone" and "people" I do mean my Mom.
Anyways, here are some awesome photos of me expressing myself taken by Marty Umans.
